PermanentRedaction takes a deliberately deterministic approach in a market full of AI-detection tools: it finds sensitive content purely through saved/reusable rule sets — keyword, phrase, ID, date and regex matching — rather than machine-learning inference, which it markets as a feature ("no AI model processing of documents") for filing, disclosure and regulatory submission contexts like court filings, discovery exhibits, HR records, healthcare administration, public records responses, financial document sharing and journalist source protection. The workflow previews every match before anything is finalized, supports multi-document jobs, and includes a two-pass verification step. Output can be either text-preserving or flattened to image-only, and every job produces a verification report plus a confidential redaction index that serves as an audit trail. Scanned/image-only PDFs only get limited manual-only redaction (via image-region box drawing) since there's no OCR or AI layer to read them. Pricing runs on two parallel tracks: pay-per-job One-Off pricing ($29–$149 depending on size, up to 25 documents/10,000 pages, 48-hour access, no subscription) and monthly subscriptions from a watermarked Free tier through Starter ($49/mo), Professional ($99/mo), Firm ($249/mo), Litigation Operations ($499/mo) and Enterprise Production ($999/mo) — each raising per-job page limits, monthly page/document quotas, team login seats (2 up to 100) and file retention (24 hours up to adjustable 1-14 days). All paid tiers include unlimited rules, image-region redaction, verification reports and both export modes.
