What will it cost?

100 pages a month

Worked out from each plan's published rate, reading the figures above as one month's work. Subscription plans read Included in the plan rather than a per-document figure: a monthly fee is not a per-document price, and dividing one into the other would need a volume no vendor publishes. A metered plan is priced past its allowance at its published overage rate; one that caps out with no such rate says so instead of quoting a price it would not honour.

Our assessment

Axon Redaction is the redaction layer of Axon's evidence platform, built for agencies that must release body-camera, dash-camera and other recordings under FOIA and public-records rules. It comes in two parts that work together inside Axon Evidence.

Redaction Studio is the manual editor. Reviewers mask people and objects in video with an object-tracking tool that follows the subject, redact audio PII by hand, and pick a specific audio stream when a file has several. Each mask can carry an exemption code from an agency-defined list; Studio flags masks that lack one, and when the work is done it attaches the exemption log to the exported redacted file.

Redaction Assistant is a premium add-on that uses AI models built for law enforcement to find and mask heads, licence plates and screens. Each unique head is tracked across the video, including when it leaves and re-enters the frame, and the reviewer chooses which ones to redact. It processes up to 20 videos at once, and the vendor says a two-hour video takes ten minutes or less. Audio is redacted through the transcript: select a word and it is bleeped throughout the video.

The pages cover video and audio only, with no mention of images or documents. Pricing is by quote, and no compliance certifications are listed on the product pages.

Strengths

Limitations

  • Sold with Axon Evidence, and the AI Assistant is a premium add-on
  • No public pricing and no compliance certifications listed on the product pages
